Cathédrale St.Croix in
Orléans was begun in the 13C and continued for
over 300 years. Part of the cathédrale was
destroyed by Protestants in 1568. Henri IV
rebuilt the cathédrale in a
Composite Gothic style. (See pseudo-Gothic
towers.)

including Chateau Chambord, Chateau
d'Ussé, and Chateau Blois...each one had
its own unique history and charm.

Château d'Ussé, built in
the 15th & 16th centuries, is a symbol of the
medieval fairytale castle inhabited by brave
lords, beautiful ladies and poets. The
château was the inspiration for Perrault to
write his famous stories of Sleeping Beauty.
